• Biozone: The Parkinsonia parkinsoni zone is commonly used as a stratigraphic marker in the upper Bajocian of southern England.

This is a fine example of a Jurassic ammonite from the world-renowned Jurassic Coast of Dorset. It was discovered by our team members Alister and Alison at Burton Bradstock on 30 April 2025, and meticulously cleaned, prepped, and treated by Alison. The specimen has been selected for its scientific and aesthetic value, and is shown in the photos with a 1cm scale cube for accurate sizing.

Fossils from the Inferior Oolite Group are well-known for their quality and scientific importance. This specimen is an authentic representative of Parkinsonia, a genus frequently used in correlating Jurassic strata across Europe.
